Senior Mechanical EngineerVolant Partners, Inc is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to assist our clients with the development and deployment of their products. Responsibilities will vary, but the selected candidate will contribute to areas such as new product development, managing changes, and product validation and qualification testing.Successful candidates will use their deep knowledge in mechanical engineering to successfully manage complex projects and drive results. We are looking for self-starters and decision makers that are comfortable in new situations where success is dependent on quickly understanding client challenges and addressing them. This individual must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and be able to communicate effectively with different engineering disciplines, project and client leadership. This position will be fully onsite and we are only seeking candidates in the greater Seattle area or candidates who are willing to relocate to the Seattle area.Typical ResponsibilitiesWork cross-functionally to create, release, and support productsManage changes to project scope, schedule, and costsLead product validation and qualification testingManage the design of electromechanical systems to meet requirementsAnalyze, optimize, build, test, and refine new products and sustaining solutions to meet goalsLead prototyping, manufacturing processes, materials, post-processes, coatings and finishesUtilize PTC CREO and Windchill to create and modify 3D models, and component and assembly drawingsConduct failure analysisLead and mentor other engineersRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical course of studyMinimum of 6+ years of engineering or consulting experienceA consultative mindset and strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations) to work directly with client multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and advance client's objectivesProven mechanical engineering and problem-solving skills in an integrated team environmentProven track record of managing time and resources to meet deadlinesExperience with PTC WF4 or CREO for 3D CAD modelingAbility to make decisions and execute to the planAbility to earn the trust of clients and influence leadership and key technical resourcesMaintains positive and professional relationships and promotes an environment of teaming and collaboration in a diverse work environmentAvailable to be onsite at client facilities as neededMust be a US Person - U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred QualificationsExperience working in regulated industries such as defense or aviationExperience working in a consulting or engineering services companyExperience with product development life cycleExperience in Optical Engineering and LightingExperience with DO160Experience using industry leading requirements management tools (DOORS Classic/DNG, JAMA etc.)Experience using Confluence and JIRAKnowledge of Configuration ManagementCompensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is currently $142,996 to $177,000 based on current market data. Actual compensation will depend on the successful candidates' work location, qualifications, skills, and depth of experience. As an employee-owned company, the total compensation for this position will include Stock Options and eligibility for the Utilization, VP Accelerator and Profit-Sharing bonus programs.
