Billing Coordinator (Legal)

Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking experienced Billing Coordinators to join its growing finance team! Position Overview The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for managing high-volume billing processes for a designated group of attorneys, handling approximately 700–1,000 prebill s per billing cycle and supporting 25–30 billing attorney s. This role requires precision, professionalism, and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of the billing cycle Key Responsibilities Prepare, edit, and finalize monthly prebills and invoices in compliance with client billing guidelines. Coordinates with attorneys and administrative staff to ensure accurate time entry and prompt billing. Submit electronic invoices through various e-billing platforms and monitor approvals. Research and resolve billing discrepancies, ensuring adherence to firm and client requirements. Collaborate with the finance team to streamline billing workflows and improve efficiency. Maintain detailed billing records and produce periodic reports as needed. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of legal billing experie nce in a large law f irm setting is required. Experience supporti ng 25–30 attorn eys and managi ng 700–1,000 prebi lls per billing cycle. Proficiency wi th Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar legal billing software. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated longevity in previous roles — the firm values candidates seeki ng long-term career stability. Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000 (higher end for top performers).
