Under clinical direction, the Ultrasound Technologist I performs a variety of routine ultrasound imaging procedures in the diagnosis of diseases and study of malfunction of organs; assists physicians in related ultrasound procedures performed on outpatient, inpatient, and emergency patients at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Health Centers; and performs related duties as required.We are looking for someone who is:Able to understand and follow written and oral instructionsAble to work tactfully, sympathetically, and effectively with various types and conditions of patients with minimum supervisionAble to maintain the strictest levels of confidentialityA few reasons you might love this job:Never a dull day! The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.Minimum QualificationsCertificates Required:Possession and maintenance of a valid certificate as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) issued by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography; and a valid certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) issued by the American Red Cross or Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association. Substitution: Proof of graduation from an accredited ultrasound training program and eligibility for the RDMS examination may be substituted for the required certification. Incumbents must successfully pass the RDMS examination within six (6) months of hire.Selection Process1. Application Evaluation: Depending on the number of applications received, an Application Evaluation Board may be convened to evaluate and select the best-qualified candidates for invitation to the next phase of the examination.3. Training and Experience Evaluation: Consists of an evaluation of each candidate's relevant education, training and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%) Candidates must receive a score of at least 70, which may be an adjusted score, in order to be ranked on the eligible list. The examination steps noted above may be changed in accordance with the County's Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.CONVICTION HISTORY After you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
