We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our dynamic client in the residential services industry. This is a permanent position designed for a diligent, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and a passion for the construction industry. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, supervise and mentor accounting staff, and support corporate accounting, financial reporting, and the development and enforcement of internal control policies and procedures. Jobot has partnered with a well-established construction company in the Houston area to identify an Accounting Supervisor to join their growing finance team. Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of accounting staff
• Identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements within the accounting function
• Assist with the design and implementation of internal controls and standardized workflows
• Support external audit requests and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Collaborate with FP&A and senior finance leadership on reporting and process initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including construction, real estate, or project-based industries
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GL accounting and month-end close processes
• Demonstrated experience driving process/procedure improvements
• CPA a plus, not required
• Strong Excel skills; ERP/construction accounting software experience a plus
