Job Details Title: Business and Employment Specialist (BES2) – Temporary Position. Location: Newport WorkSource Office. Position type: Employee. Salary range: $4,519 – $6,276. Responsibilities Interview a high volume of job seekers to identify goals, needs, transferable skills and interests. Provide job seeker referrals for job listings, guidance for the application process, document writing, and interviewing techniques. Advise claimants of potential eligibility problems or issues. Provide progressive assessments to job seekers as needed, to inform provision of services in collaboration with WorkSource staff. Occasionally travel throughout the state. Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience providing customer service that included requesting, reviewing information and documentation, and deciding an action based on that information (examples: eligibility interviewer, application examiner, unemployment insurance, etc.). Two years of education or experience equivalent. Forty‑five quarter (30 semester) college‑level credits in Human Resources, Vocational or Career Counseling, Social Services, Psychology, Education, Business or Public Administration, Communication or related field substitutes for one year of experience.
