Responsibilities and Expectations: IPS is seeking a talented and experienced Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician to join our team. This role requires strong technical onsite repair skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to deliver unmatched customer experience in demanding industrial environments such as surface mining facilities, dragline equipment, and other heavy industries. As an Electromechanical Field Service Technician, you will perform advanced diagnostics and repairsincluding vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and electrical testingwhile also leading field crews, ensuring job safety, and representing IPS in a professional manner. This is a hands-on, decision-making role that requires both technical expertise and strong leadership in the field./pulliRepresent IPS in a knowledgeable and professional manner, maintaining strong customer relationships./liliPerform advanced diagnostics including vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and electrical testing as needed./liliConduct motor removal, installation, troubleshooting, and repair for AC/DC motors in industrial and mining environments./liliCarry out precision tasks such as shaft alignment, bearing replacement, seal setting, and torquing critical components to specifications./liliProvide on-the-job training and mentorship for field service technicians in advanced electrical and mechanical skills./liliAssist with proposals, job walks, and defining work scopes for customer projects (preventive maintenance, reliability, motor change-outs, testing, etc.)./liliEnsure compliance with all IPS policies, procedures, and safety requirements, including completion of field service safety checklists./liliUtilize test equipment such as Megger, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, DLRO, and other diagnostic tools./liliPerform DC motor/generator commutator inspections, including evaluation of commutator condition, brush holders, brush wear, and mica depth./liliClean electro-mechanical equipment using methods such as bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvent cleaning./liliPrepare detailed service and technical reports with findings and recommendations./liliThink creatively and problem-solve in challenging environments to minimize customer downtime./liliWork independently or as part of a team to complete projects safely and effectively./liliCollaborate with Subject Matter Experts and IPS Engineering to overcome advanced failures and repairs./li/ulpQualifications and Competencies:/pulli4+ years of hands-on AC/DC motor service experience (mining, dragline, or heavy industrial environment preferred)./liliPdMA testing experience or equivalent diagnostic equipment (preferred)./liliVibration Analysis ISO CAT II certification (preferred)./liliStrong skills in vibration analysis, alignment, and bearing inspections./liliProven ability to lead teams and train technicians in the field./liliStrong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures precisely./liliExcellent problem-solving skills; able to adapt and think outside the box under pressure./liliStrong customer focus with professional communication skills./liliBasic computer literacy and technical report writing ability./liliValid Drivers License with an acceptable driving record./liliAbility to travel locally and overnight, with availability for overtime, weekends, and on-call assignments./liliSolid math skills, including fractions and percentages./liliExperience installing and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is a plus./li/ulpYoull thrive at IPS if you Lead with integrity and prioritize safety.
