Delivery Expert Job Requirements and Duties Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record that meets company standards. Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery. Must possess customer service skills and be able to navigate a map to locate addresses within the designated delivery area, including multi‑story buildings and adverse terrain. Assist with inside tasks periodically such as food preparation, cleaning, and other duties as needed. Must be licensed in the United States for at least the last two years and be able to prove licensed driving history. Must provide documentation of at least two years of licensed driving history in the U.S. Must have an unsuspended or uninterrupted driving history of at least 1.5 years during the last two years. Must maintain a vehicle inspection record covering headlights, tires, rear‑view mirror, taillights, brake pressure, windshield wipers, doors, backup lights, horn, and safety belt. Pay $20.00 per hour, plus tips and mileage. General Job Duties for All Team Members Operate all equipment. Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler. Prepare product. Receive and process telephone orders. Take inventory and complete associated paperwork. Clean equipment and facility daily. Training Orientation and training provided on the job. Communication Skills Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person. Essential Functions / Skills / Abilities Add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator). Make correct monetary change. Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders. Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements quickly. Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product. Work Conditions Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36° in cooler to 90°F or higher in some work areas, with sudden changes in temperature. Fumes from food odors, exposure to cornmeal dust, cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler, hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher, and sharp edges and moving mechanical parts. Sensing Talking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks. Depth perception. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions. Physical Requirements Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking: For short distances and durations on surfaces such as ceramic tile or linoleum. Work surfaces are between 36″ and 48″ high. Sitting: Paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table. Lifting: Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by hand truck; deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions up to 3′ × 1.5′; cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72″ high. Carrying: Large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz) are carried from the workstation to storage shelves; occasionally, pizza sauce (≈30 lb) is carried from the storage room to the front of the store; trays of pizza dough are carried three at a time over short distances, weighing ≈12 lb per tray. Pushing: Trays are moved on dollies; a stack of trays on a dolly is ≈24″–30″ and requires a force of up to 7.5 lb to push; trays may also be pulled. Climbing: Infrequently navigate stairs or ladder to change signs, wash walls, perform maintenance. Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station; toe room is present, but workers cannot flex knees while standing at this station. Duration: 30–45 seconds repeatedly during the day. Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas. Reaching: Workers reach above 72″ occasionally to operate oven controls or change price signs; workers reach down to scoop cornmeal from a barrel, wash dishes; workers reach forward when obtaining toppings, cleaning work surfaces, or answering phones. Hand Tasks: Eye‑hand coordination is essential; use of hands continuous during the day. Activities require one or both hands; shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms/wrists; manipulation of pizza peel, rolling cutter, and cardboard boxes requires pinching. Machines, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids: May utilize pencils, pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel. Qualifications All drivers (applicant or employee) must meet these requirements in order to be eligible to drive for VAZ: Must be 18 years or older. The suspension cannot be at the start of the 2 year period. No more than 1 violation and 1 at‑fault accident associated within the last 2 years. No more than 2 violations and 1 at‑fault accident associated within the last 3 years. No more than 3 violations in the last 3 years. Moving citations (i.e. speeding, vehicle safety, etc.) count as violations. Seatbelt citations do not count as violations. Inoperable brake light citations do not count as violations. No serious/major violations allowed in the past 5 years. Periodic Delivery Vehicle Inspection. These inspections are not intended to replace extensive mechanical inspections by a professional, and the vehicle operator is responsible for the safe operating condition of his or her vehicle.
