Head Cross Country/Assistant Distance Indoor and Outdoor Track Coach

Rye Country Day School is seeking a Head Cross Country/Asst. Distance Indoor and Outdoor Track. Outdoor Track season begins March 23, 2026. Cross Country begins August 24, 2026. Required hours are Monday - Friday 3pm-6pm and possibly Saturdays. Responsibilities Serve as Head Cross Country Coach for Boys and Girls Program in fall season. Serve as Assistant Coach for Indoor and Outdoor Boys and Girls Distance Runners during winter and spring seasons. Effectively plan and organize both practices and competition calendars. Teach and train a team of beginners through advanced level distance athletes. Create an inclusive, exciting, and challenging environment each day. Collaborate with the assistant coaches in planning and communication. Work with the Director of Athletics to hire Assistant Coaches when necessary. Maintain a safe environment at all times. Communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and opponents in a professional manner. Desired Qualifications Minimum of 3 years successful high school boys and girls distance running. A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community. Energetic and enthusiastic, flexible and patient. Salary Range: $20,000 - $25,000 (for all three seasons) depending on experience.
