Director, SAP Finance & Enterprise Applications

Our client, a global industry leader is seeking an experienced SAP executive to lead regional SAP delivery while serving as the global functional owner for critical enterprise capabilities across Finance and Order Management. This highly visible leadership role sits at the intersection of technology, business operations, and enterprise transformation, providing strategic direction for SAP initiatives across multiple regions and business units.

The successful candidate will drive SAP governance, operational excellence, program delivery, and continuous improvement while partnering with executive stakeholders to ensure technology investments align with business objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAP Leadership & Governance

• Lead SAP delivery across a major geographic region, ensuring operational stability, service excellence, and alignment with business priorities.
• Serve as the global functional owner for SAP Finance and Order Management, establishing governance frameworks, standards, policies, and best practices across regions.
• Develop and maintain enterprise SAP roadmaps that support business growth, scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Drive consistency across regional SAP implementations while balancing local business requirements.

Program & Portfolio Management

• Oversee large-scale SAP programs, transformations, and enhancement initiatives from planning through execution.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with scope, quality, and risk management objectives.
• Provide executive-level reporting on program health, key milestones, resource utilization, risks, and outcomes.
• Manage external implementation partners, consultants, and system integrators to ensure successful delivery.

Finance Systems Leadership

• Maintain ownership of the global SAP Finance landscape, ensuring alignment with financial processes, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide oversight of key finance processes including:
• Financial Close
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
• Order-to-Cash (O2C)
• Asset Accounting
• Product Costing
• Profitability Analysis
• Financial Planning and Reporting
• Partner with Finance leadership to optimize business processes and improve reporting, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

Enterprise Collaboration

• Partner with senior business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable SAP initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, data, analytics, cybersecurity, and enterprise application teams to ensure integrated solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance system performance, user adoption, and business outcomes.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing SAP teams across multiple locations and delivery models.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Manage internal resources and external vendors to maximize delivery effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of SAP experience supporting enterprise-scale environments.
• Proven experience leading SAP Finance initiatives and enterprise application delivery.
• Demonstrated success managing large-scale ERP programs across complex organizations.
• Experience leading global or multi-region SAP teams and delivery models.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive leadership.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational leadership capabilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Deep expertise in SAP Finance (FI/CO) and integrated business processes.
• Experience serving in a global governance, Center of Excellence (CoE), or enterprise SAP leadership role.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integration strategies, and data governance.
• Proven track record of building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Ability to align technology strategy with business objectives and financial performance.

TRAVEL

• Approximately 10% domestic travel
