Dental Assistant – Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and motivated  Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate is a team player who provides excellent patient care, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
• Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations
• Prepare and maintain dental materials, instruments, and equipment
• Assist with patient intake, medical histories, and treatment documentation
• Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Follow OSHA, infection-control, and office safety procedures
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable clinical environment
• Support the dental team with other clinical and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• Dental assisting experience preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Knowledge of dental terminology and infection-control procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
