Job Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)

Eligible for Indiana state medical licensure and DEA registration

Completion of an accredited PM&R residency (Open to graduating PM&R residents/fellows)

Key Responsibilities

Lead the comprehensive medical management and functional restoration plan for an 18-bed Acute Rehabilitation Unit, overseeing a capped daily census while serving on an immediate track toward the Medical Director role.

Direct patient care plans in close collaboration with physical, occupational, and speech therapists, utilizing on-site hospitalist support for day-to-day general medical management.

How You'll Make An Impact In This Role

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
