Leader, Alzheimer is responsible for understanding the strategic alignment between marketing and sales leaders and implementing training strategies to enable field facing teams to execute these strategies and tactics. The role includes oversight of recruiting, retaining, and developing the product and field training team, leading in a matrix organization, conducting needs analyses to identify and develop training needs, and measuring and communicating the impact of training solutions across the organization. A key function is to gain insights from the field facing team and communicate these insights back to internal partners to influence strategy and organizational goals for the assigned business group. The Leader communicates regularly with the Leader, CT&D to ensure that team initiatives and priorities align within the broader CT&D organization. Effective execution will enhance the capabilities of the Sales Team through training, coaching, and performance improvements, as well as leadership of field training managers and their effectiveness through field rides and coaching. The role also focuses on fostering growth and developing team members to perform effectively. He/she serves as the lead product point-person and training subject matter expert with the commercial brand teams, coordinating training strategies and needs. The leader is responsible for managing training communications between sales training teams and the field sales forces. He/she leads and develops a team of training professionals, holds ownership of final scope of work for significant contracts with external vendors, and monitors vendor quality and execution. The role provides oversight to field-based training managers to maximize field resources and mentors colleagues, supporting the Director of Commercial Training on special projects and initiatives. Essential Functions Develop Talent and Build Organizational Capability: Provide coaching and development for direct and indirect reports. Drive continuous improvement through process discipline and innovation. Align with strategic vision of key stakeholders to lead execution of team: Develop collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders in sales and marketing, understand vision, strategy and needs, and lead the team to facilitate training solutions that enable the team to fill needs. Oversee Development and Delivery of Training Programs: Responsible for the overall creation and delivery of customized training solutions for an evolving marketplace. This includes content development and implementation of all commercial training programs as well as evaluation of training outcomes (effectiveness and quality) for continuous improvement. Define, monitor, and report on training success metrics, demonstrating performance improvements and ROI impacts. Needs Analysis: Partner with Commercial Executives and other stakeholders to determine strategic business drivers and objectives. Conduct needs assessment activities to identify performance gaps and recommend training and non-training solutions to ensure maximum effectiveness of commercial field teams. Project Management in a Matrixed Organization: Manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects on time with the ability to influence others in a matrixed environment. Partner with cross-functional teams including the heads of Oncology, Neurology, and Commercial Services/Value and Market Access. Aligning training with Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Sales and Brand is critical. Fiduciary Responsibility: Develop a budget that supports planned efforts and manage spend quarterly in a compliant and timely manner. Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a life science field or adult learning. 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience; preferably with a proven track record of successful sales performance or marketing experience. 4+ years training or teaching-related experience, including knowledge of adult learning principles and experience with distance learning and learning management systems. 2+ years of people management experience for both home office and in-field personnel. Experience in buy & bill market and supporting a matrix environment, including reimbursement support. Preferred experience in biologics, diagnostics, market shaping, Alzheimer’s and/or rare diseases. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, including virtual training design and delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership within the Commercial Training team. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to interface with cross-functional groups. Ability to present to large groups at regional and national meetings. Strong project management skills including scheduling, planning, and prioritizing multiple activities and projects. Creative problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to assimilate information to design workshops. Neurology experience required. Travel up to 35% of the time. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with 10+ years of relevant experience. Life Sciences industry experience preferred. Eisai Salary Transparency Language: The annual base salary range for the Dir, Alzheimer Training is from $201,800-$264,800. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in the Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan. Final pay determinations depend on factors including experience, education, knowledge, and skills. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
