Certified MillwrightThe Certified Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably in accordance with specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, assemble, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and mechanical systemsPerform precision alignment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipmentDiagnose mechanical issues and perform corrective and preventive maintenanceRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsPerform rigging, hoisting, and lifting operations using cranes, forklifts, and other equipmentMeasure, layout, and verify tolerances using precision tools (dial indicators, micrometers, laser alignment)Perform bearing installation, shaft alignment, and coupling installationConduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activitiesEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety proceduresWork collaboratively with electricians, welders, operators, and engineersSupport equipment upgrades, outages, shutdowns, and turnaroundsMaintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working conditionRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDCertified Millwright credential (journeyman-level or equivalent)5+ years of industrial mechanical experienceStrong knowledge of mechanical systems and rotating equipmentAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instrumentsKnowledge of rigging practices and load calculationsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamPreferred QualificationsCompletion of a recognized millwright apprenticeship programOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience in power plants, refineries, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environmentsWelding or fabrication experienceExperience with laser alignment systems and vibration analysisPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, and work in confined spacesAbility to wear required PPE for extended periodsAbility to work in industrial environments and varying weather conditions
