Business Development Specialist

Location: Indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky Travel: Approximately 5% We're seeking an Inside Sales & Support Specialist to support Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Government customers while partnering with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and drive business growth. Responsibilities Support customer-facing teams with outdoor lighting products, technology, sales processes, and customer engagement strategies. Prepare accurate proposals, contracts, and sales documentation for outdoor lighting projects. Serve as a subject matter resource for product questions, technical support, billing, rates, and tariffs. Recommend lighting products and solutions that meet customer needs while maximizing profitability. Partner with Engineering & Delivery teams to ensure successful project execution and high customer satisfaction. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support sales initiatives and resolve customer issues. Deliver presentations and training to customer-facing employees across multiple locations. Stay current on outdoor lighting technologies, products, and industry trends. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. Experience supporting or selling technical products or services. Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with a diverse customer base, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government clients. Working knowledge of reporting systems and work management tools. Basic understanding of utility rates and tariffs. Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven. Preferred Qualifications Experience with outdoor lighting products and lighting design. Knowledge of energy and electric distribution services. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Lighting Certified (LC) designation. Experience leading training initiatives or serving as a technical advisor.
