Public Finance Paralegal

Job Summary

A legal services team in Orlando, FL is seeking a Public Finance Paralegal for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This in-office role is ideal for a detail-oriented paralegal with law firm experience who enjoys supporting complex public finance, lending, real estate, and transactional matters.

The Public Finance Paralegal will work closely with attorneys, clients, governmental entities, lenders, and other transaction parties to help manage time-sensitive closings and detailed legal documentation. Key Responsibilities

- Support attorneys with public finance, bond, loan, acquisition, real estate, and transactional matters.
- Prepare, revise, organize, proofread, and maintain legal documents, agreements, closing files, and transaction materials.
- Coordinate loan and transaction closings, including tracking deadlines, outstanding items, and required documentation.
- Conduct due diligence, title review, public records research, and legal document analysis.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, governmental entities, lenders, and outside parties.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical legal files and record billable time according to firm procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $50,000 to $70,000 per year, based on experience.
- Job type: Direct hire, full-time.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide paralegal support for public finance and transactional legal matters.
- Assist with bond transactions, loan transactions, acquisitions, closings, and related legal projects.
- Manage document preparation, due diligence, title review, and public records research.
- Track transaction deadlines, closing requirements, and outstanding documentation.

- 3 to 5 years of paralegal experience preferred, with 2 to 5+ years of law firm paralegal experience considered.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, legal procedures, and transactional documentation.
- Experience reviewing title materials and conducting public records research.
- Excellent proofreading, document preparation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines in a high-volume legal environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional client-service approach.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain accuracy with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to record and manage billable time in accordance with firm procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in public finance, real estate, lending, financial transactions, government representation, or affordable housing.
- Experience supporting bond transactions, loan closings, or complex transactional legal matters.
- Experience with Centerbase or other cloud-based law firm management or accounting software.
