Job Overview Housekeeping Manager - Luxury Hotel Experience Required FullTime, NY, New York, NY, US Salary: $67,000.00 Annually We have extraordinary career opportunities available for experienced multi-lingual genuine team players with a passion for creating luxurious experiences. Responsibilities Interpret, administer, and promote all departmental policies, procedures, and established standards. Monitor all daily operations of the housekeeping service department, including the cleanliness of all guest rooms and public areas. Communicate with different departments to ensure that housekeeping services and activities are properly planned. Coordinate the services and operations of housekeeping and laundry with other departments. Focus on day-to-day direction of the department, including implementing projects and improvements. Supervise guest room transfers and respond to resident requests in a timely and policy‑compliant manner. Process payables in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures. Inspect storage rooms, utility closets, and janitorial closets for upkeep and supply control. Requisition housekeeping supplies and equipment, maintaining proper inventory levels to support operations. Document cleaned areas, report issues such as room damage or maintenance requests to the front office. Ensure all cleaning equipment is in proper working condition and arrange for repairs as needed. Ensure daily work assignments, payroll, and reporting are completed accurately and timely. Collect and prepare the room and floor status report sheets for assigned work areas and assign rooms to housekeepers as needed. Train housekeeping employees to achieve the standards of cleanliness in guest rooms. Make recommendations and follow through on disciplinary action for assigned staff. Respond to emergencies using information from SDS sheets; keep SDS sheets current and readily available. Provide exceptional guest service for all requests by responding in a timely manner. Inspect guest rooms, including VIP, vacant, occupied, and check‑out rooms, to ensure standards are met by each employee. Inspect public areas, lobby areas, hallways, storage closets, garbage rooms, offices, laundry rooms, lockers, rooms, etc., to ensure cleanliness according to standards. Balance and clear room status daily/nightly; compare the P.M. housekeeping report with the PMS room status report and resolve discrepancies. Monitor out‑of‑order, out‑of‑service, discrepant, and showroom conditions daily. Direct progress of housekeepers and housemen in rooms undergoing deep cleaning. Participate in department meetings and quality check inspections. Perform additional administrative duties, including payroll review and inventory. Collaborate on other reasonably assigned duties and tasks. Serve as a mentor, guide, trainer, and champion for all housekeeping team members. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-service hotels with full understanding of housekeeping department functions. Five (5) years of supervisory experience. Proven ability to lead and manage the overall operation of the department budget and control operating expenses; intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial concepts, budgeting, and accounting operations. Ability to lift 50 pounds without restrictions. Strong leadership, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. Knowledge of operational controls, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to train and develop team members. Excellent organizational skills. Computer skills: strong working knowledge of MS Office and PMS systems (Opera, Knowcross, Alice, InFor). Working knowledge of Time & Attendance software. Spanish speaking preferred; other languages very helpful. Local candidates only.
