Transform Lives Through Communication in Charm City - Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist Overview What if your next career step was not just a job, but a chance to empower lives - literally? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the enchanting city of Baltimore, your role transcends the traditional challenges of communication and swallowing disorders. You'll be a catalyst for change, helping patients rediscover their voices, regain their confidence, and forge enduring connections - from little ones forming their first sentences to older adults resuming their cherished routines. This opportunity allows you to work with diverse populations throughout the lifespan within a setting that harmoniously combines outpatient therapy with select inpatient services. Whether your passion lies in guiding toddlers on their linguistic journey, addressing communication challenges in adults with neurological conditions, or supporting older adults' cognitive health, there's a rewarding balance between professional fulfillment and flexibility waiting for you. Description Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using standardized instruments and observational methods. Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate objectives as well as overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities. Deliver focused speech therapy interventions centered on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques. Engage in collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to devise integrated care plans. Provide educational resources for patients and their families to promote progress outside of therapy settings. Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care for every patient. Maintain precise and timely documentation consistent with state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in ongoing learning to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field through continued education and collaborative efforts with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist . Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based interventions for all ages, paired with a strong grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Adept at adapting therapeutic techniques to respect and meet varying cultural and linguistic needs. Exemplary clinical judgment coupled with robust problem-solving skills. Competent with electronic medical records and documentation protocols. Benefits Attractive compensation reflecting your experience and expertise. Flexible work schedules promoting a healthy work-life balance and diverse caseload opportunities. Specialization options available in pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices. Financial support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives. A collaborative, team-oriented environment prioritizing quality care and lifelong learning. A Journey of Empowerment - Both for You and Others In this position, you won't merely provide speech therapy - you will be part of a community initiative aiming to restore voices, enhance communication abilities, and generate moments of happiness through the fundamental human experiences of understanding and connection. Here, you'll work alongside fellow clinicians who foster a familial atmosphere, within a culture that champions teamwork over competition. Each patient holds a unique narrative, and we trust you to assist in telling that tale. Why You'll Love Living and Thriving Here The lifestyle in Baltimore offers a vibrant mix of rich history and modern creativity. This city, renowned for its distinct neighborhoods and cozy waterfront views, beckons those who seek a harmonious balance of urban living infused with genuine community spirit. Engage with a lively arts scene that celebrates both contemporary and classical influences, wander through bustling farmers markets, or embrace the culinary diversity that the city boasts. With options ranging from local seafood dives to globally-inspired eateries, there's always something new and exciting to try. Nature enthusiasts can escape into parks and along the picturesque trails lining the Chesapeake Bay, all while soaking in the diverse cultural fabric that makes Baltimore stand out. And for professionals, the benefits extend beyond quality of life - a supportive healthcare network and a relatively affordable living scene await those ready to make their mark in this thriving metropolis. Whether you are at the start of your career or a seasoned professional looking to branch out, here you'll discover the perfect environment for your personal and professional growth. Who We're Looking For We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist moved not only by results but by compassion. Someone who, upon meeting a shy child, envisions their bright future filled with self-expression - who, when hearing the tentative words of a stroke survivor, detects an undercurrent of resolve. You might be a pediatric expert aspiring to broaden your skills into adult care or a clinician with a neurological focus eager to expand into early interventions. If your heart is committed to serving with kindness alongside robust expertise, we're eager to welcome you aboard. Let's Create Meaningful Connections - Together If you understand that speech transcends sound and that therapy is more than mere tasks - if embodying trust in the therapeutic relationship is as important as addressing goals, and that laughter is as integral to language - then this role might be the perfect next chapter for you. Join us in a community that values communication, connection, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Apply today and become a vital part of our team, helping others discover their voices and reclaim their stories.
