Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Alaska-licensed Emergency Medicine physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Valdez, Alaska. This rural, critical access setting requires broad-scope clinical coverage with Emergency Department responsibilities and overnight beeper call during the scheduled dates below.

Opportunity Details

• Location: Valdez, Alaska
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Rural critical access hospital
• Coverage: July 16, 2026 through August 10, 2026; August 19, 2026 through August 28, 2026 (October shifts also probable)

Schedule Details

• Shift Times: 10 hours, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Call Type: Overnight beeper call
• Estimated Frequency: Approximately 4 shifts per week

Clinical Scope

• Emergency Department coverage
• Inpatient and outpatient care
• Obstetrics in emergency situations, including C-sections if needed
• Hospitalist duties, including transfer of patients as necessary
• Evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition across a broad rural patient population

Practice Environment

• Small rural hospital in Valdez, Alaska
• Broad scope of services with transfer capability as needed

Requirements

• Active or IMLC license in Alaska
• DEA registration
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine)
• Rural health skills or certifications
• Current CV uploaded with bid

Preferred Qualifications

• Board Certified Family Practice (preference) with rural health experience (Emergency Department, hospitalist, and obstetrics experience)
