Help shape the learning experience for high school students by supporting accessible communication in an onsite contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school environment near Burlington, IL. This position is designed for passionate interpreters who excel at bridging communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers and educators. Its a rewarding role offering meaningful daily interaction in an engaging educational atmosphere. Key Qualifications Current and valid Illinois Sign Language Interpreter license required State and district qualifications, with adherence to any additional requirements Experience working within an educational or high-school setting strongly preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of relevant interpretive practices Strong interpersonal communication skills, reliability, and adaptability in a school setting Role Responsibilities Provide interpretation services to high school students during instructional hours Accurately and sensitively translate spoken communication into sign language, and vice versa, to support full classroom participation Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students, educators, and families Collaborate with educators, support staff, and other interpreters to ensure consistency and quality of service Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and code of conduct Perks and Benefits Receive competitive weekly pay as you contribute to students academic growth Access health, dental, and vision insurance plans tailored for your needs Plan for your future with a comprehensive 401(k) retirement program Enjoy steady, predictable hoursMonday through Friday, from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, starting ASAP through May 21, 2027.
