Job Title: Physician - Internal Medicine Dept, Palliative Care, Psychologist (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Department: The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center Position Overview The position involves implementation of a combined mHealth-telehealth symptom intervention for people with advanced cancer as well as brief telehealth intervention for people with pancreatic cancer. Other behavioral symptom management projects are also available so prior training in chronic pain, sleep medicine, and evidence-based wellness and psychological interventions (CBT-ACT) is preferable. The Psychologist will assist with basic statistical analyses as well as manuscript and grant development and will supervise and mentor junior research staff on multiple studies. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. Duties and Responsibilities Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission - patient care, education, and clinical research. The psychologist will provide professional telehealth support for mHealth and web-based interventions for people with cancer. They may also provide clinical intervention for other studies as part of the Center for Research Excellence in Supportive Care. They will perform statistical analyses and have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. The position requires broad knowledge of psychosocial oncology, DSM-5 diagnosis, psychosocial palliative medicine interventions, and basic research methods and statistics. Other duties include representing the program or Department at conferences and community speaking engagements, practicing within the established Medical Center standards of practice and adhering to mandatory mandates. Requirements Successful completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology and an APA-accredited internship Post-doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or medical setting is preferred Knowledge of actigraphy and/or psychoneuroimmunology is preferred Licensure in the state of Ohio Previous work in an academic medical center Faculty rank will be in accordance with candidate’s qualifications Additional Information Location: Twelfth Ave, 395 W (0356) Position Type: Regular Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
