Job Title Physician - Internal Medicine - Hematology (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Department The Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital (OSUCCC-James) Position Overview Physicians within the Division of Hematology provide direct and indirect patient care services in inpatient and/or ambulatory settings in the James Cancer Hospital. They will conduct ambulatory clinics where they will perform physical examinations to assess medical needs, perform relevant hematology procedures, and order diagnostic testing and other ancillary services. The physician will prescribe and implement treatment plans, while educating patients and their families. Physicians may participate in quality assessment and improvement activities. A physician in hematology will serve as a preceptor and provide bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate and graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied health medical professionals in the specialty of hematology. Duties and Responsibilities Provides direct and indirect patient care services in inpatient and/or outpatient settings. Orders procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services. Prescribes and implements treatment plans. Directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities. Provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, and other allied health professionals. Requirements MD or DO (or equivalent). Board eligible or certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. Must meet medical licensure requirements for the state of Ohio.
