Job Title: Plastic Injection Mold Operator

Job Description

This role operates automated and manual plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components, primarily for medical products such as mouth guards and hard plastic cases. You will work in a clean room environment, perform visual inspections and trimming, and support production by operating small packaging and sealing equipment while following strict documentation and dress code standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated and manual plastic injection molding machines to produce plastic medical parts and other plastic components.
• Perform trimming of molded parts to ensure clean, accurate, and consistent finishes.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections of parts to identify defects, ensure quality, and maintain compliance with medical production standards.
• Work in a clean room environment and follow all gowning procedures and cleanliness protocols.
• Complete required medical and production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Operate small equipment such as sealing machines, packaging machines, folder machines, and sonic welders as needed.
• Package finished products according to specifications and ensure correct labeling and presentation.
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions for all manufacturing and assembly tasks.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks over the course of the shift.
• Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and quality standards in the production area.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding issues, defects, or process improvements.
• Comply with the required dress code and clean room attire at all times while on the production floor.

Essential Skills

• Experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly environments.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate plastic injection molding equipment.
• Comfort working in a clean room environment and following gowning procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, especially for visual inspections and repetitive tasks.
• Good communication skills and a trainable, positive attitude.
• Ability to perform visual inspections to identify defects or inconsistencies.
• Willingness to follow documented procedures and complete medical documentation accurately.
• Capability to stand or sit for extended periods, depending on workstation requirements.
• Reliability in following dress code and workplace rules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with injection molding, plastic manufacturing, or medical device production.
• Previous experience in assembly, trimming, or packaging within a clean room environment.
• Familiarity with operating small equipment such as sealing machines, packaging machines, folder machines, and sonic welders.
• Comfort working in an environment with a noticeable plastic odor.
• Ability to maintain consistent performance in repetitive work settings.
• Interest in growing into more advanced roles, including potential progression toward setup technician responsibilities as experience increases.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily a clean room setting with a laid-back yet focused atmosphere. You will follow gowning procedures and adhere to a specific dress code, which includes a white collared shirt, black pants (no jeans), and preferably matching brown or black shoes. Sweatpants, pajama pants, shorts, sandals, and hats are not permitted. The facility has a noticeable plastic smell, so candidates should be comfortable working in that type of environment. Work is repetitive and detail-oriented, requiring consistent concentration and quality focus throughout the shift. The schedule is a night shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday or Monday-Friday, with an associated shift differential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Circle Pines, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Circle Pines,MN.
