Building Automation System (BAS) Operator

Monitor the districts BAS systems and have work orders created for issues found, dispatch appropriate technicians to problem areas and make adjustments to the BAS Systems to maintain comfort and energy efficiency.

Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.

Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to translate and communicate technical information in a simple, tangible manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with a MS Windows based computer including MS Office Suite. Ability to follow, read, and write specifications schematics, and building plans.

Experience: Minimum two (2) experience in one or more related fields Technology, Building Automation Systems, HVAC, Electrical.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain functionality of districts building automation systems. Maintain building environments to an acceptable level. Identify building automation systems problems and submit work orders. Dispatch HVAC and BAS technicians to emergency calls. Ability to work overtime. Flexible work schedule. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. On-call for afterhours, weekend and holidays. This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public. Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of the computer. Environmental Factors: Condition consist of and not limited to sitting long hours, extended computer use, extreme heat, freezing conditions, tight attic spaces, multiple roof heights and constant lifting of 50lbs.
