How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region The Occupational Health Manager provides leadership to Council directors, managers, supervisors, and employees regarding occupational health programs and services provided by the Council. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, this position leads the Occupational Health function and provides work direction, coaching, and supervision to the Occupational Health Specialists and Human Resources Assistants. The incumbent will be responsible for the Disability Management program for all divisions of the Council, full-cycle program administration for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) reasonable accommodation process, and high-level Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) assistance to the Employee Resource Center, as needed. Compensation Anticipated Starting Salary Range (DOQ): $101,744 - $145,000 Full Salary Range: $101,744 - $165,152 Note: The starting salary will depend on the selected candidate's experience, skills, education, and internal salary equity. This position is eligible for a hybrid (onsite three days per week) telework arrangement. Candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Responsibilities Assign, plan, and monitor the workflow of the Occupational Health team to ensure the effective utilization of resources. Manage the Council Disability Management programs, including Salary Continuance benefit programs, medical disqualifications, return to work programs, fitness for duty exams, full cycle reasonable accommodations, and the interactive process under the ADA. Provide expert critical incident consultation to Council leadership involving approval and denial of medical leaves of absence and decisions regarding approval/denial of Salary Continuance benefits. Assist in the update of Council Occupational Health policy and procedures to comply with state and federal law. Qualifications Any of the following combinations in completed education (degree field of study in Nursing, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a closely related field) and experience (managing an Occupational Health program in the areas of disability case management, including return to work, fitness for duty, and restricted duty; Americans with Disabilities Act [ADA]; AND Family Medical Leave Act [FMLA] designation and administration): Associate degree with eight or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory or management role Bachelor's degree with six or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory or management role Master's degree with four or more years of experience, including three or more years of experience in a supervisory or management role Desired qualifications Valid Minnesota nursing license. Master's degree in Occupational Health or Public Health. Experience promoting an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values culture and diversity among all employees. First six months: knowledge, skills, and abilities Knowledge of integrated disability management, including intake, case management, return to work, and fitness for duty. Ability to successfully interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to make sound decisions based on complex situations with ambiguous circumstances. Ability to implement programs and administrative controls, and ensure concise, reliable, and timely record-keeping. Skill in developing, motivating, and fostering collaborative relationships inside and outside the organization.
