Purchasing Agent

We are seeking a highly motivated and eager Purchasing Agent to join our team at Infill Innovation Inc, San Diego’s fastest-growing residential real estate developer. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, bidding, negotiating, and contracting materials, labor, and services for residential construction projects. This role manages assigned trades and suppliers, ensures competitive pricing and complete scopes of work, and supports on-time, on-budget home delivery through close coordination with Construction, Accounting, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Develop and issue bid packages for assigned trades and suppliers Solicit, analyze, and compare bids to ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing Conduct bid negotiations and make award recommendations Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers Contracting & Purchasing Prepare and issue subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change orders Ensure contracts reflect approved pricing, scopes of work, schedules, and company standards Coordinate contract execution and resolve scope or pricing discrepancies Monitor vendor performance and assist with issue resolution Cost Control & Budget Management Manage assigned trade budgets and cost targets Track pricing changes, cost impacts, and variances Support value engineering efforts and cost-saving initiatives Cross-Functional Coordination Coordinate closely with Construction, Estimating, and Accounting teams Assist field teams with subcontractor and supplier issues as needed Support schedule-driven purchasing needs to meet production timelines Systems & Documentation Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP or purchasing systems Update scopes of work, pricing databases, and vendor records Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and compliance are maintained Qualifications Required 2–3 years of experience in residential construction purchasing or estimating Strong understanding of residential construction trades and scopes of work Proven experience with bidding, negotiation, and contract execution Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Preferred Experience with Procore or other purchasing software Knowledge of construction contracts, insurance requirements, and lien laws Experience working with production or semi-custom homebuilding Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and negotiation skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple trades and deadlines simultaneously Effective communicator with subcontractors and internal teams Results-driven and cost-conscious mindset Office-based with regular coordination with field operations Fast-paced residential construction environment Infill Innovation Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr
