Step into a meaningful role supporting students with diverse needs as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained classroom serving 3rd-5th graders. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through May 2027, offering consistent engagement and the chance to build lasting connections with students and colleagues.

You’ll work with a dedicated group of seven students with moderate to severe needs, fostering growth and positive outcomes in an adaptive learning environment. The classroom is self-contained, enabling you to implement individualized strategies and create a nurturing, structured atmosphere tailored to each learner.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid EC Adaptive Curriculum Licensure
• Experience working with moderate/severe caseloads
• Background in elementary special education, ideally 3rd-5th grade
• Strong skills in adapting curriculum and differentiating instruction
• Effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies
• Compassion, patience, and a collaborative mindset with families and colleagues

Role expectations include:

• Teaching and supporting a small group of students in all academic and functional areas
• Collaborating with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service staff
• Creating and implementing IEPs tailored to each student’s specific needs
• Tracking student progress and maintaining thorough documentation
• Engaging with parents and guardians regularly to enhance home-school partnerships
• Participating in ongoing professional development to remain current in best practices
