Facility:
This facility is home to one of Georgia's six designated perinatal/neonatal regional centers, featuring a modern 70-bed Level III NICU within a brand-new 50,000 sq. ft. facility opened in 2019. Operating within a Level I trauma center environment, the facility supports a robust multidisciplinary team and offers academic affiliation opportunities, providing an outstanding environment for neonatal care and professional growth.

Physician - Neonatology


Job Details:

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care within a state-of-the-art 70-bed Level III NICU
• Manage critically ill and premature newborns requiring advanced neonatal therapies
• Utilize advanced NICU technologies including high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, and total body cooling
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of 7 neonatologists, 6 neonatal nurse practitioners, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgery support, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists
• Participate in an attractive rounding and shared call schedule with rotating weekend NICU coverage
• Practice exclusively within NICU responsibilities with no newborn nursery duties required
• Participate in teaching opportunities through an academic appointment with Mercer University School of Medicine
• Educate and mentor pediatric residents within a collaborative and collegial physician culture
• Contribute to evidence-based neonatal care initiatives and quality improvement efforts
• Deliver family-centered neonatal care to infants and families across central and South Georgia
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine required
• Active Georgia Medical License or willingness to obtain required
• Neonatology fellowship training and experience required
• This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the immediate local area
