Dietary Manager

MADO Healthcare Uptown partners with persons who live with mental illness to offer hope in recovery and wellness. The Dietary Manager is responsible for ensuring that all meal preparation, service and clean-up are done in accordance with city and state regulations. The position is also responsible for completing food orders, resident assessments, staff schedules and other documentation responsibilities of the Dietary Department. Essential duties include: Complete all food & supply orders for the Dietary Department. Maintain all dietary records, including food/supply orders, schedules, diet changes (pink slips), meal tracking, snack lists, temperature logs, dish machine & pot and pan logs, etc. Daily checks of the menus, making sure all food items that are needed for the following day are available. Assist the Registered Dietitian in writing or revising dietary policies & procedures and menu planning. Interview clients to incorporate their food preferences into menu planning Encourage adequate food & fluid intake of all clients. Notify nursing staff if there are concerns with the food or fluid intake of a client. Attend treatment plan meetings along with interdisciplinary team (IDT), including clients. Conduct educational groups with clients regarding healthy living and nutrition. Maintain records of lesson plans and client attendance at these groups. Review and approve payroll bi-weekly for Dietary Department. Provide leadership, education (in-services), support and guidance to all dietary employees to ensure food quality standards, food safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met. Qualifications Must be free of a criminal background that is a Disqualifying Offense as defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent Basic computer skills and general knowledge and understanding of nutrition required Current City & State Food Service/Sanitation Certificate required.
