In this full-time ambulatory oncology position, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated physician partner to deliver longitudinal, patient-centered cancer care. The Role This is a 100% outpatient, clinic-based oncology role within a highly collaborative Head and Neck cancer program. You will function as a key clinical partner to the attending oncologist, delivering care across the cancer continuum with increasing independence as you onboard into the specialty. In an average day, you will:

• Provide direct patient care in a parallel clinic model, managing your own schedule of oncology patients while collaborating closely with the attending physician
• Evaluate and manage patients actively undergoing cancer treatment, including symptom management, treatment monitoring, and acute visits
• Deliver longitudinal follow-up care, including survivorship visits and post-treatment monitoring
• Participate in a multidisciplinary care model alongside surgery, radiation oncology, nutrition, speech pathology, and interventional radiology
• Engage in a weekly tumor board, contributing to complex case discussions and care planning
• Manage a daily volume of approximately 8-12 patients, balancing acuity and continuity of care
• Build expertise in a high-acuity, high-impact oncology subspecialty, supported by a structured onboarding experience
• Practice with increasing autonomy, supported by a consistent physician partner and team-based environment

This role is particularly well-suited for APPs with oncology experience or those with a strong foundation in oncology nursing who are eager to transition into a specialized NP or PA role. Advanced Practice Provider Scope of Practice: Clinical

• Participates in professional governance through the APP Council
• Attends team development meetings at local and departmental levels

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree. Experience: Department and unit specific. Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $116,123.00 - $171,163.20 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
