Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, utilizing structured clinical interviews and standardized assessment tools.

• Collaborate with clients to design personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs, preferences, and goals, ensuring a client-centered approach.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), monitoring clients' responses and adjusting strategies as necessary.

• Provide psychoeducation and support to clients and their families, helping them understand mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies that empower them in their health journey.

• Regularly track and document clients' progress throughout the treatment process, making timely adjustments to treatment plans based on outcome measures and client feedback.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans are in place.

• Stay informed of the latest research in the field of mental health, ensuring the application of current best practices in client treatment.

• Maintain meticulous records of client interactions, treatment plans, and assessments in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

• Participate in case consultations and team meetings, contributing insights and strategies to enhance overall clinical practice and treatment efficacy.

• Advocate for clients, working proactively to mitigate the stigma surrounding mood disorders while promoting mental health awareness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with clients facing mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, especially those receiving care in a hospice setting. These individuals often deal with profound emotional challenges amidst their medical conditions, requiring sensitive and skilled support. Your role will involve addressing their psychological needs, improving their emotional resilience, and helping them achieve a better quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York.

• Three or more years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly with populations experiencing mood disorders.

• Proven proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities, specifically CBT and DBT, with documented outcomes of successful client treatment.

• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the role of psychiatric care in treatment planning.

Compensation and Benefits\n
