Medical Director

Position Overview Acacia Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our team as Medical Director. As our Medical Director, you’ll lead an AAHA-accredited, 2‑doctor hospital that has an excellent team full of hardworking and compassionate individuals, including 2 CVTs! We’re searching for an experienced doctor who will build upon our hospital’s current strengths, while elevating our services and encouraging new business ideas. Veterinarians who are confident in surgery, love teaching, and have a performance/culture driven mindset will be highly considered for this role. Responsibilities Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations of a 2‑doctor AAHA‑accredited animal hospital. Provide patient‑focused medicine and foster a collaborative work environment. Elevate services and encourage new business ideas. Perform and supervise surgical, anesthetic (1‑4 procedures per day), orthopedic (including TPLO), dental, and exotic pet care. Mentor new graduates and early‑career doctors through an established mentorship program. Participate in a Medical Advisory Board, monthly DVM rounds with an internal medicine specialist, and dentistry training courtesy of a board‑certified dental surgeon. Maintain professional interests, licensure, and continuing education. Support staff development and professional growth. Qualifications Experience as a veterinarian (DVM) with confidence in surgery and anesthesia. Interest in teaching, mentorship, and a performance‑driven culture. Knowledge of orthopedics, dentistry, exotic pet care, and wildlife rescue. Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships. Commitment to patient‑focused medicine and employee growth.
