Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Coverage Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), and gynecologic and surgical oncology population
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio within a specialized oncology unit, including a 7-bed positive pressure wing for BMT and acute leukemia patients
• Assist with and support bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
• Administer medications using barcode medication administration systems and Epic-integrated Alaris IV pumps
• Float to other units as required per facility policy
• Participate in emergency response team assignments as directed by unit management in the event of an emergency event

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing
• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (address on driver's license used for verification)
• Up-to-date NURSYS report (within 4 weeks of submission date) required with profile

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred
• Prior experience with Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, and barcode medication administration systems
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
