Position Summary

The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operational performance of all MOZZ locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and profitability across the organization. This role partners with location managers and senior leadership to set operational standards, drive financial performance, maintain compliance, and deliver a consistent brand and guest experience across every MOZZ location. The Director of Operations serves as a key member of the leadership team, translating company strategy into day-to-day operational execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations across all MOZZ locations, ensuring consistency in quality, service standards, and the overall brand experience.
• Develop, implement, and enforce standardized operational policies, procedures, and systems across all locations.
• Partner with location managers to set performance goals related to sales, labor cost, product/food cost, and guest satisfaction, and hold them accountable for results.
• Monitor and analyze P&L performance for each location; identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and performance management of location management teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, food-safety (as applicable), and labor regulations across all locations.
• Conduct regular site visits and operational audits to assess standards for cleanliness, safety, staffing, and guest experience, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including new location openings, remodels, and expansion planning.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, reliable service, and cost-effective purchasing across all locations.
• Manage the annual operations budget across all locations; identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or guest experience.
• Implement and monitor operational systems and technology (POS, inventory, scheduling) to improve efficiency and reporting across locations.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for significant operational, staffing, or guest issues across MOZZ locations.
• Foster a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service across all locations.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of progressive multi-unit operations management experience, with a proven track record overseeing multiple locations simultaneously.
• Demonstrated experience managing P&L, budgets, and driving profitability across multiple locations.
• Strong leadership skills with experience hiring, training, and developing management teams across multiple sites.
• Working knowledge of health, safety, food-safety (as applicable), and labor regulations affecting multi-location operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align teams across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale, scheduling, and inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly between all MOZZ locations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

This role requires frequent travel between all MOZZ locations and regular time spent on-site at each location, including time spent standing, walking, and moving through kitchen, back-of-house, and front-of-house areas. The role also requires the ability to sit for extended periods when working from an office setting, use a computer and standard office equipment, and communicate effectively via phone, email, and video conferencing. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.
