Principal Scientist I - In vivo Preclinical Development

AbbVie seeks a Principal Scientist to lead preclinical in vivo development for targeted lipid nanoparticle programs. The role involves designing animal studies, developing bioanalytical assays, and generating IND-enabling data for autoimmune and other indications.
Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and execute in vivo animal studies with associated bioanalytical endpoints
- Develop protein detection assays using flow cytometry, ELISA, and related methodologies
- Characterize immune parameters including cell phenotyping, activation markers, and cytokine profiling
- Coordinate with contract research organizations and internal teams to execute bioanalytical screening activities
- Serve as primary author of publications, presentations, study reports, and regulatory documents
Requirements
- PhD with 6+ years experience in relevant scientific discipline, or MS with 12+ years, or BS with 14+ years
- Advanced proficiency with multi-color flow cytometry panel design and immune cell phenotypic analysis
- Experience with FlowJo, CellEngine, GraphPad Prism, and Tableau data analysis software
- Hands-on experience with ddPCR or Luminex/MSD-based molecular assays
- Track record as principal investigator with original research strategy development
- Published scientific work and presentations at major conferences
- Demonstrated expertise recognized within and potentially outside the organization
