Nuclear Engineer for AI Model Evaluation

Nuclear professionals apply their operational, safety, and technical experience to evaluate AI model outputs in nuclear contexts, assess domain-specific content, and provide clear, structured feedback that helps improve model performance. No prior AI experience is required.

• Review and evaluate responses generated by AI models for accuracy, relevance, and safety in nuclear domains.
• Create and refine prompts that reflect real-world nuclear tasks and language.
• Provide concise, structured feedback to explain errors, suggest corrections, and clarify domain-specific terminology and procedures.
• Draw on hands-on experience to judge whether model outputs align with safe operating practices and regulatory expectations.

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following roles: Nuclear Engineers, Nuclear Technician, Nuclear Power Reactor Operators.
• Practical experience that may include operating and monitoring nuclear systems, performing routine testing and equipment adjustments, and managing system stability and efficiency.
• Experience maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, including hazard identification, radiation measurement, and taking corrective or emergency actions when required.
• Experience collecting and analyzing operational data for reporting, troubleshooting, or continuous improvement of nuclear processes and equipment.
• Ability to work asynchronously and communicate feedback clearly to AI research teams.

• Engagement is hourly and temporary, focused on AI research tasks involving prompt creation and response evaluation.
• Remote and asynchronous work, performed independently from any location.
• Hours are flexible with no minimum commitment, though most contributors average 5 to 20 hours per week.
• Placement into specific projects depends on project availability; the program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically.

• Up to $300/hr (depending on the project).

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm whether this work meets your institution''s requirements.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for this program.
