Journeyman Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician's primary duties are to plan, layout, install and/or repair cable, conduit and equipment in the most workmanlike manner possible. The Journeyman Electrician at Duro Electric performs duties primarily in a jobsite setting. This position will report directly to a designated Foreman or Superintendent or other designated field leaders.

Minimum qualifications include a valid Colorado (or reciprocal) JW license.

Key skills and competencies include following all safety protocols, reading electrical drawings, using industry-specific testing equipment, using installation tools, excellent communication skills, managing multiple priorities, following direction, strong attendance, following company procedures, teamwork, meeting Duro's tool requirement, and willingness to travel.

Job responsibilities include following safety rules, planning installations, preparing sketches, measuring, cutting, bending, assembling and installing electrical conduit, testing continuity of circuits, installing control and distribution apparatus, pulling wiring through conduit, preparing wire splices, installing grounding leads, observing functionality, repairing faulty equipment, leading, training, and providing feedback for apprentices, and performing additional duties as assigned.

Other requirements include a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, completing 24 hours of CEUs every three years, and maintaining active JW license status.

Preferred qualifications include completed accredited electrical apprenticeship program, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift certifications, NICET 1 or 2, Denver Fire Alarm Installer License, NFPA70, CPR/First Aid certification.

Compensation and benefits include $33 - $40, benefits day 1 - medical, dental, vision, 401K, basic life insurance, contributory life insurance, AD&D insurance, HSA, FSA, FSA - dependent care, long term disability; first of the month - short term disability, accident insurance, hospital insurance, and critical illness insurance.

Additional information includes background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position), individual salaries will be assigned based on consideration of a combination of industry experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other factors pertaining directly to the essential functions of the job.
