1st JOB as CNC Programmer:

The CNC Programmer supports the Specialty Tooling Department by providing CNC programming, setup, machining, and technical support for die and mold production and die repair. This role is responsible for creating accurate CNC programs, supporting machining operations, reviewing design data, selecting appropriate tooling, and helping ensure that tooling components are produced safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

·       Create and maintain CNC part programs for Specialty Tooling equipment using internally designed Autodesk Inventor models, drawings, project communications, and Mastercam machining software.

·       Configure cutting tools, fixtures, work holding methods, machining strategies, speeds, and feeds to support efficient die and mold production.

·       Analyze drawings, 3D models, and design data to determine correct part dimensions, tool selection, setup approach, machining sequence, and machining parameters.

·       Set up and operate CNC equipment as needed to support production requirements.

·       Monitor CNC machine output and machine performance; make mechanical, tooling, or program adjustments to ensure parts meet quality requirements.

·       Use AutoCAD Mechanical and Autodesk Inventor to create, revise, and support 2D and 3D CAD drawings and related machining documentation.

·       Create or support tooling design drawings for form cutters, specialty tooling, and die/mold production needs.

·       Support new project startup activities by organizing project information, drawings, part program files, and relevant communications.

·       Maintain and support facility machine tooling, tool room inventory, measurement tools, gauge tools, and consumable support equipment.

·       Contact vendors as needed to stay current on tooling developments, cutting tools, and machining improvements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

·       8+ years of experience in machine shop operations, CNC milling, or related precision machining work.

·       3–5 years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam or comparable CAD/CAM software.

·       Proficient understanding of G-code, M-code, CNC setup, machining strategy, feeds, speeds, and cutting tool selection.

·       Ability to read and interpret drawings, 3D models, machining data, specifications, and project communications.

·       Demonstrated ability to apply good manufacturing practices and select appropriate tooling and machining resources for die and mold production.

·       Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment and capable of inspecting work to tight tolerances, including ±0.002 inches where required.

·       Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor, Mastercam, or similar CAD/CAM tools preferred.

·       Strong communication, mathematical, computer, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.

·       Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.

·       Trade school, associate degree, technical certificate, or related machining/manufacturing training preferred.

2 nd Job-  CNC Machinist 

The CNC Machinist supports the Specialty Tooling Department by safely setting up, operating, and supporting CNC and manual milling equipment used to manufacture and repair dies, molds, and tooling components. Safety is the top priority in this role, requiring consistent adherence to all safe work practices, standard procedures, and quality expectations while maintaining efficient production across manned and unmanned operations.

This position requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work from drawings, 3D models, project communications, and Mastercam programs. The CNC Machinist will operate equipment including Toyoda, Okuma, Nidec, Haas, manual mills, and lathes while supporting continuous improvement, inspection, troubleshooting, and workflow priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Follow all safety procedures, job safety practices, and shop standards at all times.

·       Set up and operate CNC milling machines, manual mills, and lathes to produce and repair tooling components.

·       Read and interpret customer drawings, 3D models, specifications, and project communications.

·       Utilize Mastercam and G/M code knowledge to support machining programs and efficient production.

·       Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height indicators, and other measuring equipment to ensure quality requirements are met.

·       Adjust feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and machining methods to improve quality, throughput, and cost effectiveness.

·       Troubleshoot machining or program issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain specifications.

·       Support workflow priorities, repair processes, and timely completion of scheduled work.

·       Assist in training and supporting less experienced machinists as needed.

·       Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience:

·       8+ years of machine shop and CNC mill operation experience preferred.

·       2–5 years of programming experience with Mastercam and AutoCAD preferred.

·       Familiarity with G-code and M-code required.

·       Experience handling 3D models and applying machining strategies from digital design data.

·       Ability to select tooling, configure cutting tools, and apply good manufacturing practices.

·       Proficient with measuring equipment and capable of holding tight tolerances.

·       Strong communication, math, teamwork, and decision-making skills.

·       High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school, associate degree, or related certification preferred.
