Remote Business Development Representative

Business Development Representative (BDR) About the Role SmartHRCheqs is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to help drive new business opportunities and build qualified pipeline for our sales team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a career in B2B sales and develop a strong foundation in prospecting, discovery, qualification, and pipeline generation. You'll work closely with Account Executives and sales leadership, use modern sales technology and AI tools, and learn how to effectively engage HR and Talent Acquisition leaders. What You'll Do Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting across phone, email, LinkedIn, and social outreach Generate qualified opportunities for the sales team by identifying, engaging, and converting high-fit prospects into actionable pipeline. Research target accounts and identify key HR, Talent Acquisition, Compliance, and People leaders Run initial conversations with prospects to understand their current background screening process, challenges, and priorities Book qualified Compliance Reviews for Account Executives Qualify opportunities based on company size, screening volume, current process, business challenges, buying potential, and timing Partner closely with Account Executives to ensure a smooth transition of qualified opportunities Use HubSpot and modern sales tools to manage outreach, track activity, and maintain accurate prospect information Leverage AI and sales technology to improve prospecting efficiency, research, personalization, and productivity Consistently work toward weekly and monthly activity, meeting, and pipeline goals Review performance metrics and continuously improve messaging, targeting, and conversion rates What Success Looks Like You consistently generate qualified meetings and pipeline that can convert into revenue You develop strong cold-calling and prospecting skills You improve conversion rates and messaging over time You effectively identify business pain rather than simply booking meetings You maintain strong CRM discipline and follow through on commitments You become a trusted partner to Account Executives and sales leadership You demonstrate the ability to eventually take on greater responsibility within the sales organization Who You Are 0–3 years of sales, business development, customer-facing, or related experience Competitive, motivated, and comfortable working toward measurable goals Comfortable picking up the phone and speaking with senior business professionals Strong verbal and written communication skills Coachable and willing to receive feedback Organized and able to manage a high volume of prospecting activity Curious and willing to learn about HR, compliance, background screening, and B2B sales Team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability Interested in building a long-term career in sales Why SmartHRCheqs SmartHRCheqs is Alliance Risk Group's technology-driven background screening solution, designed to help employers make confident hiring decisions.
