Payroll Analyst 2 – POSSC Shared Service Center Overview This role supports the POSSC Shared Service Center within the Bourns College of Engineering, managing payroll services for student, staff, and academic employees. Salary range is $56,000 - $96,400 annually ($26.82 - $46.17 per hour, up to $41.33 per hour). Responsibilities Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and time reporting for various employee populations. Oversee biweekly and monthly payroll processes, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance. Manage workforce administration, case management (benefits, accruals), and leave administration. Collaborate with clients and other Shared Services Centers to gather information for service requests. Process personnel updates in UC Path, the central payroll system. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/training. 2–4 years of related payroll experience. Background check clearance and willingness to work overtime. Working knowledge of payroll processes, policies, and procedures. Proficiency with organization-specific computer applications. Strong judgment, decision‑making, and verbal/written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, service orientation, and customer‑interaction skills. Organizational and multitasking abilities. Problem‑solving, identification, and reasoning skills. Intermediate mathematical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with UC Path payroll system. Background in payroll service center operations. Experience with time reporting, workforce administration, and payroll management.
