Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and counseling Support personnel and families operating under high-intensity demands Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services Diagnose and treat clients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma Promote preventive care and health maintenance Communicate mental health concepts to a diverse group of people Provide Command consultation regarding trends of morale and behavioral health Participate in case discussion, continuing education, and quality improvement Requirements Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia Board certification as a PMHNP by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area Minimum five (5) years of post-graduate experience in the independent practice of clinical psychiatric nursing Two (2) years prior experience in the DoW or VA setting Understanding of military culture and operational stressors Proficiency in treating Post‑Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and chronic pain Proficiently use required software, documentation systems, and Microsoft Office Meet physical requirements, including hiking over uneven terrain, functioning in austere environments, and lifting up to 25 kg #J-18808-Ljbffr Jobtailor
