Program Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator works under the general supervision and reports directly to the Program Manager of the Workforce Development Department. Brown University Health employees are expected to role‑model the organization’s values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in designing and executing Workforce Development programs that serve unemployed and underemployed youth and adults as career pipelines into Brown University Health’s workforce.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and oversee program implementation and completion, including participant recruitment, selection, onboarding, progress tracking, and graduation ceremonies. Create productive partnerships with industry leaders, Brown University Health administrative and clinical leadership, and community‑based organizations. Develop relationships with the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team to maintain training‑to‑employment pathways for program participants. Present weekly informational sessions while recruiting participants and community partners. Recruit, interview, and ensure onboarding is completed for those accepted into a program. Collaborate with nursing teams to set timelines for clearances and work with assigned RNs to ensure students are medically cleared. Build work‑readiness curriculum for each cohort and facilitate sessions as needed. Hold scheduled check‑ins weekly or biweekly to address barriers and deliver feedback. Build and maintain a network of resource providers (state agencies, food banks, homeless shelters, etc.). Oversee, develop, and monitor program budget and expenses. Ensure accurate program invoicing before submitting for payment. Manage existing funding and reporting with the Department of Labor, Training, and other grant entities. Work closely with academic partners, meeting regularly during a cohort’s session to ensure expectations are met. Track and maintain program data and translate data to communicate department accomplishments and milestones. Provide real‑time feedback to cohort participants and participate in corrective action conversations and program separations as needed. Provide day‑to‑day case management to program participants while programs are running. Set up internship placements for each cohort in collaboration with internal leadership. Participate in Workforce Development/TA marketing events. Collaborate with various departments throughout the Brown University Health affiliate system. Serve as a full member of the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required.

EXPERIENCE

Program/Project Coordinator experience preferred but not required. Previous experience in administrative and/or clinical settings. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage a broad range of people. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with strict attention to detail. Ability to function independently with a high degree of flexibility. Ability to collect, analyze, and present data. Strong work ethic and self‑starter attitude. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.

PAY RANGE

$53,060.80 – $87,547.20
