Industrial Specialist II - Furniture Factory Production Supervisor - Ramsey Unit

I. Job Summary

Performs moderately complex work in the operation of the Furniture Factory. Work involves monitoring the work of inmates to ensure efficient operations. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

II. Essential Functions

A. Monitors inmates in the performance of assigned tasks; monitors production to ensure quality and quantity control of finished products; ensures that machinery and equipment is operable; and makes minor adjustments and corrective calculations regarding productions.

B. Maintains a job training program in the processes and operational procedures in the areas of responsibility.

C. Prepares reports of operations and related documentation.

D. Maintains security of tools, machinery, and equipment; responds to emergency situations; performs various correctional and custodial support functions; and assists in maintaining security of assigned inmates.

* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
