In this role, you will be responsible for:Developing accurate contract drawings on schedule and within budget to meet client needs.Assisting the Lead Roadway Designer with responsibilities such as: client interaction, scope and fee development, and business development tasksSuccessfully collaborate with both internal and external project teamsTaking initiative on additional responsibilities as you manage your own career path at the firm.We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related fieldFlorida professional engineer (PE) registration or E.I. and ability to receive PE.4+ years of civil engineering experience with a background in roadway design.Should include the following: corridor modeling, project detailing, note generation, plans production, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation as related to the designing, coordinating, and managing of transportation engineering design projects; project types may include roundabouts, shared-use paths, separated bike lanes; signing and striping plans; signal design plans; and construction traffic control plans and design of limited access facilities.Experience preparing typical section packages, pavement design packages, reports, plans, quantities, and cost estimates using highway design manuals, AASHTO Policy, the MUTCD and applicable local design criteria.Demonstrated experience in task management.Software: High degree of functionality and understanding of Microstation, AutoCAD, InRoads/OpenRoads, and/or Civil3DConduct project field reviewsPreferred Qualifications:Planning, traffic operations, and design experience for roundabouts3D modeling experienceUnderstanding of the FDOT Design Manual and Florida Standard Plans and SpecificationsExperience coordinating with utility owners and design subconsultants/primesA strong interest to learnHigh level of customer service and desire to serve others first.Benefits & RewardAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
