Express Healthcare Staffing Illinois is seeking a travel nurse RN MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

Required certifications: BLS & ACLS (AHA)

Required skills & experience: min 1yr of ICU RN experience. Able to interpret EKG strips, use an arterial line and central lines, proficient in care of the ventilated patient and advanced knowledge in titrating vasopressors.

- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: MICU is currently the COVID unit but prior to the pandemic our primary diagnosis was Sepsis, ARDS, Pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdraw, and Overdose.
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 12 hours - shifts are 7-7:30
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend - Weekends on day shift is Saturday Sunday - Weekend nights is Friday Saturday
- Holiday Requirements: No usually depends on staffing needs at the time
Is there a call or standby requirement?: No
- Floating Requirements: Travelers float first. If the traveler floats to a lower level of care, they would take 3 patients on a stepdown unit & 4 patients in the gen med environment
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs are not provided - no specific colors required but sweatshirts are not allowed
- Unit/Department specific orientation: The traveler will receive 8 hours learning epic, etc..; then 8 hours with our educator; then shadow 4 hours; then a full 12 hours with a preceptor on the unit.
