We are currently looking for an experienced Shipping Associate who prepares orders for shipment by pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing items in the delivery area for pickup. The Shipping Associate follows the organization’s standards of quality and shipping best practices. This position is a temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations. Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES Read customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed Assemble customer orders from stock, place orders on pallets, and convey orders to the shipping department Responsible for the everyday paperwork to ensure our shipments get out the door: Bill of lading, Invoices, Airway Bills, and other documents as required Mark materials with identifying information Open crates and other containers Use of the computer to enter records Prepare materials for distribution and load trucks Complete tasks accurately, working independently and with a team to meet deadlines Other duties as required EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required Demonstrated ability to load/unload trailers using forklift and/or manual jack Must be able to be certified as a forklift driver within 90 days of hire Basic math, reading, and computer skills required Good attendance is necessary for this role Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments simultaneously Great attention to detail and time management are necessaryMinimum 1 year of similar job experience desired A focus on safety and a positive attitude is a must SCHEDULE 8-hour day shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday through Friday, some weekends may be required WORK ENVIRONMENT Fast-paced environment with others relying on completion of tasks Standing for 8+ hours a day, breaks limited to scheduled meals and rest periods Hot environment without AC, fans are available in some areas of the building Dress code is casual: safety–toed work boots required, no tank tops, no shorts COMPENSATION Non-Exempt position; Salary range: $17.00 - $20.00 an hour Final compensation will be determined and based on experience This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law Quarterly bonus option available for most employees BENEFITS Low premium cost medical and vision coverage for employees, with the option to add family members Employer-paid Dental coverage for employees and family Flexible Spending Account voluntary plan Employer-paid Life Insurance/LTD AFLAC voluntary plans 401k with employer match Paid Time Off (vacation, holiday, sick) Candidates for positions with Keiser Corporation must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
