A confidential Texas law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney (2 to 5 years) to support a transactional trusts and estates practice with a blend of sophisticated estate planning and probate matters. This is a client-facing role offering meaningful responsibility, strong autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute to business development over time.

THE ROLE

Draft core estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and powers of attorney. Advise clients on gift and estate tax planning strategies and related wealth transfer considerations. Support probate and estate administration matters from intake through resolution, including client communications and document preparation. Collaborate with firm leadership on plan design, issue spotting, and execution of planning strategies. Contribute to business development efforts consistent with the firm’s bonus structure.

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location: Dallas area, Texas. Schedule: In office 4 days per week. Compensation: Base salary starting at $95,000, with flexibility depending on experience and skill set.

REQUIREMENTS

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Active Texas Bar license in good standing. Minimum 2 years of experience in estate planning and/or probate. Strong knowledge of gift and estate tax law. Excellent drafting skills, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and deliver high‑quality work product. Strong interpersonal skills and polished client‑facing communication.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

Florida Bar license (dual‑state practice is a plus). Experience with high‑net‑worth clients and complex tax planning. Exposure to probate litigation or trust and estate administration. Prior large‑firm training with interest in a more balanced platform. Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in building a book of business.
