Step into a pivotal role as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and Mild/Moderate (M/M) needs. This contract opportunity is based near Valencia, CA, with a particular focus in the Acton area. You’ll be assisting on a very part-time basis for a short-term assignment, performing critical assessments for a small PreK caseload. Your expertise will make an immediate and meaningful difference in the lives of young learners and their families.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid CTC Certification in ECSE and M/M required
- Previous experience working in a school-based special education setting, preferably with PreK populations
- Expert at conducting assessments and interpreting results to guide eligibility decisions
- Strong communication abilities to collaborate with staff and families
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Role Highlights:
- Complete comprehensive assessments for 5-6 PreK students over a 30–60 day period
- Focus exclusively on evaluations and related documentation (no ongoing instructional caseload)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to share insight and recommendations
- Flexibly schedule your hours (specifics to be determined), likely on a very part-time basis
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements pertaining to special education assessments
