Service Department Porter

The Service Department Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and organization of the service department. This position involves moving and parking vehicles, keeping the service area clean and organized, assisting service technicians and advisors, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and has a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.

Location: Monroe, Louisiana

Reports To: Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Handling:

• Move and park vehicles in designated areas.
• Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable for customers.

Service Area Maintenance:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service drive and parking areas.
• Dispose of trash and debris.
• Clean and maintain service bays and customer waiting areas.

Customer Assistance:

• Greet customers and assist with their needs.
• Provide courtesy transportation for customers as needed.
• Answer customer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate service advisor.

Support Service Technicians:

• Transport parts and tools to service technicians as required.
• Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out processes.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.

Administrative Tasks:

• Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies.
• Follow all company policies and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
