Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative dish ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning of ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations
- Follow all food handling procedures to uphold safety standards and prevent cross-contamination
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and servers
- Prior experience in catering, menu planning, or food service is highly desirable
- CA Food Handlers Card upon hire required
