Job Description

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations independently, ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining safety protocols. This role involves patient positioning, equipment operation, and administrative tasks to support efficient imaging services.

Responsibilities:

• Position patients and select appropriate technical factors to produce diagnostic quality radiographs.
• Operate imaging equipment and utilize collimating devices to restrict radiation exposure.
• Perform portable x-ray procedures in various patient care areas, including emergency and operating rooms.
• Identify and correctly label films with patient information, ensuring proper documentation.
• Develop and process exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.
• Assist physicians with contrast media administration and prepare radiopaque materials.

Qualifications:

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Possess a valid New Jersey State License for Radiologic Technology.
• Meet A.R.R.T. certification requirements, including passing the national registry exam.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, including ER, trauma, OR, and portable x-ray procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
